New Brazil coach Mano Menezes has picked his 24 man roster, as they face the United States at the New Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. on August 10th. Menezes has chosen a relatively young squad with AC Milan forward Pato, Santos winger Neymar and Manchester United defender Rafael da Silva being some of the most notable. Only 4 players from this years World Cup team were called up, as the new coach is looking to find the flare the Seleção is known for.

Brazil’s roster:

Goalkeepers: Jefferson (Botafogo), Renan (Avai), Victor (Gremio)

Defenders: Andre Santos (Fenerbahce, Turkey), Daniel Alves (Barcelona, Spain), David Luiz (Benfica, Portugal), Henrique (Racing Santander, Spain), Marcelo (Real Madrid, Spain), Rafael da Silva (Manchester United, England), Rever (Atletico Mineiro), Thiago Silva (AC Milan, Italy)

Midfielders: Carlos Eduardo (Hoffenheim, Germany), Ederson (Lyon, France), Hernanes (Sao Paulo), Jucilei (Corinthians), Lucas Leiva (Liverpool, England), Paulo Henrique Ganso (Santos), Ramires (Benfica, Portugal), Sandro (Internacional)

Forwards: Andre (Santos), Neymar (Santos), Alexandre Pato (AC Milan, Italy), Robinho (Santos), Diego Tardelli (Atletico Mineiro)

I like the direction Menezes is going and hopefully we will see the Brazil team we all know and love.  What do yo think of the roster? Lot’s of Santos players getting called up, feel this young team has potential to go all the way in 2014?  I’m interested in seeing who Bob Bradley (If he’s still coach) calls up for the friendly, Will we see a squad for the future or will Bob pick mostly his World Cup squad as a farewell/thank you match.
