The Week 19 MLS Tifo of the Week goes to the Vancouver Southsiders for their display against the Seattle Sounders in Week 19. I received this explanation of the tifo:
It is the Lions’ Gate bridge that goes from Stanley Park into North Vancouver. The Lions on each side have Cascadia-ized. The significance of the bridge to the Club is actually quite massive. It is from the view of this bridge that the Club got its name (from like Bobby Lenarduzzi’s Father-In-Law…or something awesome like that…he was driving over the bridge and saw the ‘Caps on the mountains and the water…a piece of our history). The “Standing Strong” is also a subtle jab at the structural issues with Washington State bridges the past year or so (that is what we understand from the main tifo guy in the VSS).
